Willis, VA (March 21, 2025) – Mountain Fever Records is thrilled to announce that rising star Mason Via is set to captivate listeners with his new single, "Melt in the Sun"— a genre-blending masterpiece that fuses the high-energy spirit of bluegrass with fresh, modern influences. Inspired by a transformative experience at Bonnaroo, where Via was moved by an electrifying sunset performance, the song reflects his passion for rich melodies and powerful storytelling. "Melt in the Sun" offers a glimpse into Via’s highly anticipated self-titled album, set for release on April 25.  Pre-Save it HERE

Lyrically, “Melt in the Sun” bridges worlds, drawing influence from legendary poets like William Shakespeare and Appalachian folk icons such as Ola Belle Reed. Co-written with longtime collaborator Charlie Chamberlain, the song's journey began as an alternative rock track before evolving into a bluegrass powerhouse for Via’s upcoming album. “I didn’t want to hold any of the bangers back,” Via shares. “So we grassified it and turned it into possibly my favorite song on the album.”

The track boasts a powerhouse lineup of musicians, including producer Aaron Ramsey, whose mandolin solo blazes with unrelenting intensity, and Jeff Partin, who masterfully weaves bass and dobro into the song’s rich tapestry. Adding to the dynamic sound, Jason Davis delivers driving banjo, while Jim Van Cleve’s fiddle soars with precision and fire. Kyser George provides a steady second guitar, reinforcing the song’s rhythmic foundation. On harmonies, Brooks Forsyth’s baritone and Nick Goad’s tenor blend seamlessly, enhancing the track’s vibrant energy. Together, this stellar ensemble creates an electrifying interplay that drives the song’s high-energy spirit.

With "Melt in the Sun," Mason Via continues to push boundaries, blending tradition with innovation to create a sound that is both timeless and refreshingly new. Fans can experience the magic today all on all streaming platforms!
