Nashville, Tenn. – Acclaimed Bluegrass artist Liam Purcell is back with his latest release, “Nothing Like Trouble.” The high-energy anthem embraces the idea that a little trouble can sometimes be just the distraction you need.

“‘Nothing Like Trouble’ is a sort of reminder to myself about appreciating the ups and downs in this crazy thing we get to do for a living,” shares Purcell. “In the time since we last released music, I graduated college, moved from Boston to Nashville, and played over 100 shows. I woke up one day in my new house feeling really frustrated with the road after a lot of things had gone wrong over the past two weeks. I took a few moments to remind myself that without all of the problems I face day-to-day, what would be worth achieving without the struggle to get there? That realization helped shape this song.”

Written solely by Purcell, “Nothing Like Trouble” follows his previous album Yellow Line and serves as the first taste of his upcoming full-length project, due in 2025. The song features Purcell returning to his roots, playing multiple instruments including guitar, mandolin, fiddle, and dobro. Bandmate Zack Vickers delivers a hard-driving banjo track and a soaring high tenor harmony, while newcomer Teddy Kent lays down a dynamic bass, previewing the chemistry that will be heard on the upcoming album. First debuted during an exclusive SiriusXM Fish Bowl session in New York City last fall, the track showcases Purcell’s signature musicianship and heartfelt songwriting.

A North Carolina native, Purcell has been making waves in the Bluegrass world since an early age. His band, Liam Purcell & Cane Mill Road, was previously named IBMA’s Momentum Band of the Year, and Purcell himself made history by winning the RockyGrass Instrumental Championships in guitar, mandolin, and banjo in the same year. After recently graduating from Berklee College of Music, he has relocated to Nashville, where he is continuing to carve his own path in the genre. With a relentless touring schedule, he and Cane Mill Road are set to bring their innovative Bluegrass sound to audiences across the country. The group was recently spotlighted by Whiskey Riff as a must-hear act in their Bluegrass Bands You Need to Check Out feature.
