About The Song

“I Know It’s Wrong To Love You” written by David Parmleyand Don Parmley, father and son team of supergroup the Bluegrass Cardinals, contained tight-knit harmonies which helped usher in what has been since referred to as, “The Cardinal Sound.”  Rock Hearts put their touch with Joe who typically sings baritone takes on the high tenor part, where Billy who tends to sing the high parts, nails the baritone.  Austin’s triple fiddle lays the icing down, while Rick’s steady bass seals it all together.

“We are such big fans of the Bluegrass Cardinals and like our covers of other bluegrass bands, our intent is to play the bluegrass we love, with absolute reverence and appreciation for the originals.” Alex MacLeod

“As we usher in 2024 and bid farewell to 2023, suffice it to say that it's been a heck of a year.  We're confident that with this new album - 2024 and 2025 look promising for continuing to share our brand of bluegrass music with the masses.

The band agrees that the new album title should be Unfinished Bridges.

While the subjects in Mark ‘Brink’ Brinkman and Eric Gnezda's song are stuck in a rather unfortunate relationship - the band feels that ‘Unfinished Bridges’ represents a prophetic metaphor for its future. The idea came to Billy while discussing the song order with MacLeod.  ‘Don’t you think we have some unfinished bridges as a band,’ he asked.

We have met so many wonderful and gracious people in the industry, new fans, DJs, promoters, etc.  We were able to record with some of our musical heroes and played at sold out venues and shared the stages of the most coveted of bluegrass festivals with an impressive list of artists.  We are charting - we are selling - people are seeing our videos - we are beginning to receive national and international recognition... People know Rock Hearts and our songs.  It's amazing.

We are accomplishing all that we set out to do as a band 10 years ago.

Yet, we feel that there is still a lot left to do, to accomplish.... our "unfinished bridges" are the fans we haven't met, the stages we haven't played, the charts we haven't hit, the CDs we haven't sold, the promoters we haven't worked with, and the artists we haven't played with”. - Alex MacLeod – Rock Hearts
